Ms. Correnti is one of the few, if not the only, female Muslim calligraphers in the U.S. today. “I am a Muslim-American woman and a survivor of abuse from a very early age. I’ve lived my life complicated by illness (epilepsy and lupus) as well as an abusive family and then abusive marriage of 24 years. I am now trying very hard to find a way out. Calligraphy is something very special to me and perhaps if you view it you may find it pleasing to you.”

	“baqarah” translation: “And, God’s is the East and the West: And wherever you turn, there is God’s countenance. Behold, God is Infinite, All-Knowing.” – Qur’an, Surat al-Baqarat, ayat 116
	“hadid” translation: “In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate All that is in the Heavens and on earth proclaim God’s limitless Glory, for He alone is Almighty, Truly-Wise!” – Surat al-Hadid, ayat 1
	“ikhlas” translation: “In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate Say: “He is Allah. God the Eternal, the Uncaused Cause of all Being. He begets not and neither is He begotten. And, there is nothing that could be compared to Him.” – Surat al-Ikhlas
	“iqra” translation: “In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate Read! In the Name of your Sustainer who created, — created man out of a germ cell. Read! for your Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One who has taught mankind the use of the pen — taught mankind what he did not know!” – Surah al-‘Alaq, ayat 1
